Start Sharing Your Ideas!

This space is for Semester 2 Philosophers to put down your thoughts, paragraphs and poems. John has already posted in several different sections. I challenge you to find them and add a response to his comment. It will be like a scavenger hunt!

A New Class of Philosophers

Welcome to our discussion place! Today’s post will be the first time the Second Semester Philosophers participate in our club blog. Ignore the ads that pop up in various spots. That is the price we pay for using a “free” blog.( Here’s a good question to think about, Philosophers: Is there a cost for something if you don’t use money?)

Last week I asked you to think about this problem:

Would you rather be rich or smart?

Write your answer in the reply box and follow the directions. Please do not use extra punctuation. Sign only your first name. After I receive your post by email, I will publish your reply. You may send more than one comment. You may ask questions of your own and reply to questions other Philosophers write. Lots of comments means we are having a real conversation.

Let’s get started!

Visit this Website

This week we finished reading The Quiltmaker’s Gift by Jeff Brumbeau. Plan on visiting the website by clicking here. Think about the story as you look at the different quilts. Does this story have a message for kids or is it just for old people? Add your comments here.

What does it mean to be happy?

This week, please think about a time you were happy. Write a paragraph describing that time. Include details that will help us understand how you felt.
